La Rochelle Airport is only 45 minutes drive from our accommodation. Clients arriving on our preferred flight into La Rochelle Airport will be met by our escort and subsequently returned to La Rochelle Airport. It is possible that there may be other flights operating into Bordeaux on the same date, however, Bordeaux Airport is approximately 2 hours drive from our accommodation and therefore collection and return using this airport will incur an extra charge for transfer, if indeed we are able to accommodate it. Our escort will meet participants outside the arrivals hall at La Rochelle Airport with a board THE FRENCH COUNTRY HOUSE. We will depart in our minibus to the accommodation.
On the Sunday, participants will be taken back by minibus to La Rochelle Airport in good time for their return flight back.
Travelling by car:
Various ports offer travel to France via ferry or Euroshuttle. Euroshuttle takes 25 minutes from Folkstone to Calais. Please contact the various ferry companies or Euroshuttle direct for information and costs.
The approximate driving time from Calais to Saintes takes between 7-8 hours depending on whether toll roads or the route nationale is used. Another option is blablaacar which connects with drivers of cars travelling to your destination who have empty seats available.

By Train:
Using Eurostar from London St-Pancras to Surgeres via Paris Gare du Nord takes approximately 7 hours, obviously depending on day/time of travel. Usually there is one change in Paris, at Gare du Nord.
Participants wishing to arrive by train into Surgeres, please speak to Glyn before booking to ensure we can accommodate your transfer if you are not hiring a car. This will incur and extra charge of £50.
